Joe leaves VERY early in the morning for work so I don’t get up with him. A couple times now, when I’ve had trouble getting to sleep at night (and I’m doing well enough physically) I’ve made Joe a fun breakfast, packed him a lunch for work, and left little notes around the kitchen for him to find in the morning. My favorite part of the whole thing are the little response notes that he will leave me in return. Today was one of those mornings. I woke up to find my Bible open and a little note on top that encouraged me to read Psalm 34. Joe knew… this chapter and a couple verses in particular were going to serve me.
I will bless the LORD at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the LORD;
let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, magnify the LORD with me,
and let us exalt his name together!
I sought the LORD, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Oh, fear the LORD, you his saints,
for those who fear him have no lack!
The young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous
and his ears toward their cry.
When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
The LORD redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

before our little girl was born I left my husband little notes all the time. I would really like to start doing it again. Thank you for your example of encouraging your husband.
Kristen. No. Stinkin'. Way. The song "God Moves" and then Psalm 34 have been soooooooooooooooooooooooo (yeah, that means REALLY a lot :o) instrumental in my life and have served me by lifting my focus off of my circumstances to see the sovereignty of our God. I love returning to both in challenging times to be reminded of His GOOD AND PERFECT plan for my life...for this very moment.
I love you and am praying for you!!! Can I see you at the Worship Conference???????? Can I, huh, huh? I wonder if I can make that happen...
oh gosh, duh! i totally wasn't thinking about the time-frame!!! i am sharing a car with kyle and taraleigh, so i'll see if i can work something out. i love and miss you!!
